This Week in CELPIP: October 11 to 17, 2026

A short look at what was new for CELPIP learners this week: from the official side, what other learners watched and read, and what changed on EnvolPrep. Every link opens the item in our CELPIP news feed, where you can see where it comes from and how far to trust it.

From the official side

  • Express Entry points change on November 3 (Official source, canada.ca). Candidates with Canadian work experience or a job offer in a high-wage occupation will get extra points, and a qualifying job offer will no longer need an LMIA. Scores in the pool are recalculated, and rounds pause for up to two weeks while that happens. If you plan to claim job offer points, update your profile before November 3. Open in the feed
  • Three Express Entry rounds (Official source, canada.ca). On October 13, a Provincial Nominee Program round invited 752 people, with a lowest score of 772. On October 15, a Canadian Experience Class round invited 2,500, with a lowest score of 519. On October 16, a French-language round invited 5,000, with a lowest score of 435. Round 448, Round 449, Round 450
  • Two older episodes of the official CELPIP podcast, new in our feed (Official source, from 2021). In one, a test taker talks about how they prepared and reached Level 9. The other points to free study materials for all four parts. Reaching Level 9, Free study resources
  • Still pinned: Ontario's Workforce Priority stream. If Ontario is your plan, read the official post on what it means for your language test. Open in the feed

What learners practised this week

The most shared videos and guides were about:

  • Speaking: Task 1 (giving advice) model answers, full speaking mock tests, and how a natural answer compares with a memorised template. Speaking in the feed
  • Writing: a time plan for both tasks, how to open the Task 1 email, and why good grammar alone may not lift your score. Writing in the feed
  • Reading: full practice tests with answers, and the traps in paragraph-matching questions. Reading in the feed
  • Listening: the problem-solving part, and the mistakes that cost the most points. Listening in the feed
  • Scores and immigration: moving from CLB 7 or 8 to 9 or 10, and the language proof for Canadian citizenship. Scores and CLB in the feed

These come from teachers and learners, not from Paragon, so they carry the "Not checked" badge. A tip can be good and still not match the real test: when in doubt, check the official sources.

New on EnvolPrep

  • Reading and Listening without signing up: start a test right away. To see your score and the right answers, log in with a free account, and your answers wait for you. Try Reading
  • Study articles now link the official pages: we checked every exam fact in 12 of our guides against celpip.ca and canada.ca, fixed what was out of date, and linked the source next to each fact. Read the articles
  • Practice laid out like the real test: each section now puts things where the real CELPIP screen does. Speaking shows the picture on the left and the timer on the right, Reading the text on the left and the questions on the right, and Writing the task on the left and your writing on the right. Choose a section
  • Speaking Task 5 works like the real one: first you pick one of two options, each shown with a photo and a few details, and you do not speak. Then the other person backs a third option, and you persuade them yours is better. Each try draws a different pair. Practise Task 5
  • The full Speaking test is open: all eight tasks in a row, about 15 minutes, with the clock moving on by itself as on test day. Start the full test
  • Listening sounds like the real test: the instructions and the questions are read aloud, Parts 4 to 6 use drop-down answers, all of Part 1 is new, and Parts 3 to 6 now have three tests each. Practise Listening
  • Clearer AI reviews: your result now opens with your score, then what you did well and the top things to fix, each quoting your own words. You can also share a result by link if you choose. To see what a review looks like first, read one real review for each Writing and Speaking task.
  • Writing help when you want it: the structure guide and the AI tutor now open from buttons on the writing box and stay closed until you ask, so the screen looks like the real test. Practise Writing
