This Week in CELPIP: October 18 to 24, 2026

A short look at what was new for CELPIP learners this week: from the official side, what other learners watched and read, and what changed on EnvolPrep. Every link opens the item in our CELPIP news feed, where you can see where it comes from and how far to trust it.

From the official side

  • No Express Entry rounds this week. The last round was on October 16. From November 3, Express Entry gives extra points for Canadian work experience or a job offer in a high-wage occupation, and rounds pause for up to two weeks while scores are recalculated. Language points are not part of this change. Open in the feed
  • From CLB 7 to CLB 10, on the official CELPIP podcast (Official source, celpip.ca). A test taker talks about how their Reading and Listening practice scores went up. Open in the feed
  • Speaking tips and practice activities (Official source, video). Ways to practise speaking every day. Open in the feed

What learners practised this week

The most shared videos and guides were about:

  • Speaking: describing a picture clearly (Tasks 3 and 8), giving advice in Task 1, the same answer at three score levels, and why a memorised template can hold you back. Speaking in the feed
  • Writing: a polite request in the Task 1 email, finishing Task 1 faster, and choosing a side quickly in Task 2. Writing in the feed
  • Reading: practice tests with answers, and the trap where an answer repeats words from the text but means something else. Reading in the feed
  • Listening: predicting before you listen, not choosing the first answer too fast, and the news item part. Listening in the feed
  • Scores and immigration: how a higher CELPIP score adds Express Entry points, and moving from CLB 7 to 9. Scores and CLB in the feed

These come from teachers and learners, not from Paragon, so they carry the "Not checked" badge. A tip can be good and still not match the real test: when in doubt, check the official sources.

New on EnvolPrep

  • A study plan for your week: your results page now suggests what to practise this week, from your own scores and your test date, weakest sections first. It also shows the last seven days as dots next to a weekly goal you choose. A day off is just a grey dot: no streak to lose. See your plan (free account)
  • Your first reviews always go through: your first Writing review and your first Speaking review run even on a day the shared daily AI budget is used up. Practise Writing
  • Speaking reviews stick to the picture: in the picture tasks (3, 4 and 8), the review and its model answer now say only what the picture really shows. Practise Task 3
  • CELPIP and IELTS side by side: the score chart now has IRCC's IELTS General Training bands for each CLB level, so you can compare the two tests. Open the score chart
  • Hear words in real videos, now in French too: the video and its captions fit one screen, with Replay and a slower speed. Switch between English and Français above the search. Try it
  • Writing tasks open like the real test: each task starts with the official line "Read the following information." Practise Writing

How you can help

  • Tell us how it is going. After a Writing or Speaking review, a quick question sits under your score: how is EnvolPrep working for you? One tap is enough, and a few words help even more.
  • Tell a friend. If you know someone preparing for CELPIP, send them the link. There is no reward and no record of who you told: it just means one more person practising. Share EnvolPrep
  • Found something we missed? Send it with "Suggest a link" on the CELPIP news feed. We read every suggestion before it goes up, and we never post real test questions.
